Last month we bid a fond farewell to our temporary creative hub Granby Space after 5 years of operation. Formerly the site of Waterloo Library before it moved to Oasis Charitable Trust, the space was transformed into a co-working space, offices, and a retail unit and opened in 2016 to support local Lambeth start-ups and growing independent enterprises.
The design process for Granby Space was informed by extensive consultation with key stakeholders including We Are Waterloo, South Bank Employers' Group, and local landlords, and the build was delivered by a team effort from Meanwhile Space, Lambeth Council and IF_DO.
Between 2016 and 2021, the hub provided affordable workspace and business support to local businesses and social enterprises from a variety of industries, including:
Clay Habitat
Ceramics gallery and shop managed entirely by our London-based members of ceramics artists and makers. Now open at our Westminster project Ebury Edge.
Fledglink
A mobile app which offers free access to resources for young people to help them make informed decisions about their future work.
Free To Be Kids
A charity supporting disadvantaged young people across London via a range of therapeutic adventures, countryside based respite residentials, and creative termtime afterschool groups.

A workplace health and wellbeing consultancy specialising in DSE and ergonomics.
Albatross Digital
A golf digital marketing agency that isn't afraid to push boundaries, challenge the traditional and make golf more pervasive.
Borough Wines
Wine on tap specialists championing smaller, independent producers for the UK market, offering unique and interesting wines with real provenance.
