6-month pop-up scheme started
An exciting new pop-up programme has opened its doors in South Leytonstone. It is funded by Waltham Forest Council and operated by Meanwhile Space with support from Jan Kattein Architects. Over the next 6 months, six start-up businesses will be given the chance to test their ideas, and host workshops and events in their free pop-up space. Breaking the first ground is wonderful London Cushions. Sewing was just a hobby for owner Naila before she decided to set up her own brand. Having tested the market waters at several craft art fairs and pop-up spaces, this month-long placement is another step towards establishing her brand, selling her creative designs and hosting sewing classes, to hopefully find a more permanent space in the future.
