Shortly after it's 1st birthday, our Central Parade project received another priceless present: Built 1957-58, the remarkable building on the corner of Hoe St and Church Hill has been Grade II listed. Congratulations. The principal reasons include architectural and historic interest: A "building which embodies the Festival style, blending pattern and colour, surface decoration, slender detailing and lively rhythmical modelling with conviction and élan"; and an "unusual ensemble of commercial, residential and community uses in a town centre development".
