Meanwhile in Whitechapel

With a small pot of funding from Tower Hamlets and working in partnership with New Deal of the Mind, Meanwhile Whitechapel was made available for local people with ideas. By completing a proposal form suggesting uses for a day to a week, the space hosted pop up hairdressers, exhibitions, theatre productions and restaurants.
Over the 4 months we were in the former wholesale space on Whitechapel Road the shop hosted 37 projects ranging from start ups to artists interested to trial ideas to a live audience. 89 days, 37 projects in the space, 7 projects from the local area, 2400 visitors on the Meanwhile at the fair day, 200 visitors per day (approx), 1 new person employed and 2 new social enterprises started.
