The Hithe Garden Party 2025

Last month we hosted our annual garden party, inviting local people into the community garden to spend a day among the flowers. We ate, we danced, we crafted!

It's proven that time spent outside and around other people improves mental health. Community events promote a sense of belonging and neighbourhood in a city where social isolation is on the rise.

- 93% of attendees said being the garden made them feel more connected to nature

- 82% reported having met someone new at the event.

Christening the Braai

Our group of garden volunteers has been building a Braai (a South African BBQ) in the community garden with bricks donated by our local Wickes.

Our Saturday sessions are open to everyone, sometimes we grow and sometimes we build. There's always a break for tea and usually a dog or two roaming around.
