Start Here Aberfeldy Street

In response to the ever-evolving Coronavirus pandemic and Government’s latest guidance, the Start Here programme has now been put on hold until further notice.

We understand that these are uncertain times for everyone and are planning to resume the Start Here Programme, and open the application process to new business proposals, as soon as it's safe to do so. In the meantime, you can email us at to express interest. We will then keep you up to date of any progress.

High Street Works Ltd are working with Aberfeldy LLP to transform Aberfeldy Street by the summer/autumn of 2020 with streetscape improvements, business support for local businesses, and the START HERE programme that will see empty shops reactivated with new uses.

Would you like to play a part in the evolution of Aberfeldy Street?  We will be making three low cost shop spaces available at the heart of the community; ideal for budding entrepreneurs, makers and creators. The START HERE programme provides a platform to trial business, creative or community ideas with support from High Street Works Ltd. The aim is to develop an active high street that provides opportunities for local people whilst serving the local community. It’s a fully funded programme and there are no costs involved to take part.

To find out more about the Start Here programme, please read the Start Here Application Outline to find out more about the programme commitments, lease terms and application criteria. Below you'll find an outline of the application process.

Successful applicants may also be eligible for Aberfeldy Big Local support to develop their business. Find out more about the available support by contacting Liam on

Once applications open, we'll ask you to fill in an application form to outline your proposal against the 6 project criteria as outlined in the 'Start Here Application Outline'

If your application has been successful, you will be invited to an interview with the High Street Works and Aberfeldy LLP team. Don't worry, this is just an informal interview to find more about you and your business/ project. You can find the questions and scoring criteria in the Start Here Application Outline

Based on the outcomes of the interview, we may offer you a space on Aberfeldy Street. This is dependent on how high your proposal scores across the project criteria.

Once the offer has been accepted, Poplar HARCA will follow up with a lease.

The expected move-in date is summer/autumn 2020.
