During Lockdown 2 every Wednesday, a guest facilitator guided a meditation online – free and exclusive to Meanwhile Space tenants. We’ve put together some free resources from our guest facilitators for all of you who couldn’t attend.
If you are new to meditation, you might want to explore the various types of meditation, and try out the different facilitators to find out what works for you.
Morning Ritual with Sonja
In the first week of Lockdown 2, we hosted Sonja, who is a wellbeing and bodywork practitioner with over 15 years of experience and a devotion to helping people find ways to feel safe, calm and rested within their body.
Sonja guided us into a beautiful meditation experience, and invited us all to take part in her Morning Ritual. Morning Ritual is the place where intelligent, intuitive women go to remember, to show up, to receive practical wellbeing sessions and build holistic resilience.
It is a live, 30-minute morning Zoom-based wellbeing program that focuses on gentle wellbeing tools such as yoga, breath practices and meditation for anyone who is ready to take responsibility for their own emotional, physical and mental wellbeing. If you would like to have a taste of what the morning ritual is all about, have a look at Sonja’s YouTube channel or try out this meditation:
Soma Breath Meditation with Josef
In the second week we hosted Josef, who introduced us to Soma Breath meditation. Soma breath is a powerful meditation technique that uses guided breath sequences to reach deep meditative states. It has been designed by Niraj Naik, a trained pharmacist, using ancient yogic breathing methods which are adapted into a simple and effective program without the requirement for any prior training. All the exercises are based on sound scientific studies which validate the effectiveness of the program. If you want to have a taste of it, try out this 5- minute meditation:
Josef is a Soma Breath meditation practitioner and teacher as well as a qualified cranio-sacral therapist in Ireland. He is starting a new 8-day course on Soma Breath meditation to help us regulate stress. If you want to sign up or learn more about this programme, click on the hyperlinked poster below.
The Naked Truth of Meditation with David
In the last two weeks of Lockdown 2 we hosted David who guided us to explore the 'Naked Truth of Meditation' in week 3 and by popular demand came back to Meanwhile Space in week 4. David has over 20 years of experience in Hatha yoga, meditation and a number of other healing modalities including shiatsu, the use of sound and shamanism. David explained that meditation is essentially a simple process, which requires nothing more from you than intention and giving attention to the breath. His title indicates that there is no necessity for props or complex techniques (any of which may have their place). His purpose was to maximise the possibility that this introduction will lead to your using meditation as a regular practice. David also teaches English to adults and uses mindfulness techniques as an aid to learning. If you would like to have a taste of his meditation style, check out the meditation below, which is similar to that which we did for our tenants.
