As part of the regeneration of Elephant & Castle, the old shopping centre will make way for a new development. Meanwhile Space in partnership with the London Borough of Southwark have transformed in indoor car park at the bottom of Perronet House into a lively retail arcade which will rehouse several of the long-standing traders from the shopping centre. Designed by Carl Turner Architects, who are also behind award-winning Peckham Levels, the arcade provides 10 retail units and a large cafe space, housing shops for the daily needs of local residents, and the wider business community around Elephant & Castle.
