We are recruiting for a HR Manager (6 month part-time contract).

Job Description
Main purpose of job: The HR Manager will be responsible for all aspects of Human Resources for Meanwhile Space CIC and affiliated companies (High Street Works and Meanwhile Space Social Enterprise) which is in a stage of growth from 15-20 employees. With support from an external HR agency the HR Manager will provide advice and support line managers to undertake processes fairly and consistently. Good knowledge of HR compliance with current employment and legislation is important for this role. This role will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to provide a proactive and pragmatic HR service.

Skills and attributes: Highly self-motivated, driven individual who thrives in a busy environment, used to working on own initiative and as part of a small team. Confident taking the lead in building positive relationships with colleagues. Excellent knowledge of HR issues within small business settings and confident in articulating issues and resolutions to Senior colleagues. Good level of school qualifications and ideally CIPD qualified. Experience working in a general HR position is essential.
Main tasks of the job:
Provide support to the Executive Directors in all HR matters , liaising with external HR support service Peninsula HR on a regular basis.
Provide advice and guidance on HR, policies and procedures which support the aims [LB1] whilst fulfilling its obligations to employees, and ensuring legislative compliance.
Establish, maintain and deliver the training necessary to ensure staff are equipped to deal with HR responsibilities.
Provide advice to SLT on employment relations issues with regard to staff matters.
Provide support to staff to ensure that, through the application of best practice, appropriate decisions and actions are taken with regard to employment issues, following the relevant policies and procedures.
Ensure that employee records are maintained to the highest standards.
Monitor staff attendance ensuring that management information is available and liaising with SLT in the monitoring of sickness trends.
Provide help and advice on performance management to line managers as required.
Regularly review current HR policies and procedures documentation to ensure they are compliant with current legislation.
Strive for personal and professional development through active involvement in the appraisal system and performance management procedure.

Contract length: 6 months
Part-time hours: 15-21 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
