PHANTASMAGORIA

Thursday 10th November from 19.00 - 23.00

PHANTASMAGORIA is a platform for debate. It breaks the conventional exhibition space and by doing so becomes a forum for discussion on issues of consumerism and capitalism, and the impossibility of escape. Artists and Philosophers interact with the people attending in the new Cathedral of post-post-modern society: the shopping centre.

PHATASMAGORIA is a living structure. It develops and changes daily. It will hold events ranging from the ‘Aesthetics of Terror’ to Jack the Ripper as a first situationist, and the Red Shoes.

About Meanwhile in Finchley Road

Meanwhile Space, an innovative social enterprise which uses empty spaces in socially useful ways, launched the meanwhile project in October 2011 at the O2 Centre, Finchley Road with the support of New Deal of the Mind (NDotM), a groundbreaking charity set up to create access to jobs, and support self-employment in the arts and creative industries. 
Meanwhile Space and NDotM have transformed the empty restaurant into a creative hub offering space and support to social enterprises, creative start ups and community-focused projects. Meanwhile Space manages a programme of activity until an alternative, long-term use is secured.
